Chalice of the Void comes into play with X charge counters on it.
Whenever a player plays a spell with converted mana cost equal to the number of charge counters on Chalice of the Void, counter that spell.

"Comes into play with counters" toimii siten, että kortilla on peliin tullessaan ilmoitettu määrä countereita. Chalice tulee pöytään, siihen asetetaan ilmoitettu määrä countereita, ja vasta sitten aktiivinen pelaaja saa jälleen priorityn eli mahdollisuuden pelata spellejä ja efektejä.

Triggered abilityt, joihin voi vastata, alkavat sanoilla "when", "whenever" ja "at".
