Had 5-8 people watching for most of the time, nobody spoke up so I did indeed talk Finnish all the time. Near the end I had been playing for close to three hours and was replaying levels that I initially skipped, that is, the most bullshit ones, so I was mostly quiet, frustrated and dying. That part probably wasn't all that interesting to watch.
To sum it up, stages were wildly different in quality and difficulty, overall I'd say it's better than SFxMM but not on the same level as the original games or the better romhacks. The first boss I fought glitched and got stuck doing nothing. Props for original content though as opposed to the romhack standard of borrowing sprites and music from other games.
The UI has saving and loading and some nice menu features, but as I found out it's almost as easy to destroy your progress as in SFxMM. With half the robot masters down I died early on in a stage, figured I'd reset my lives, realized the stage has no pits or spikes early, remembered the game's fancy menus, and hit select. The options presented were Resume Game, Title Screen, Exit Game. I hit Title Screen without thinking much about it and indeed found myself at the Title Screen with all progress lost with no confirmation dialog or anything. I suppose I should have seen that coming but come on, if you're going to have saving and menus that look the same as in modern games, I'd expect you to not pull off shit like that. You could, for example, let me Resume Game from there or autosave after clearing a stage or something. Anything.
Anyway, I got through most of the robot master stages (all but the end of Glue Man and Yo-Yo Man) and I'll work on getting them down at my own pace, which hopefully won't take forever. I'll put a stream up again once I get to the Wily stages or whatever it is that comes after the initial 8.
